AVAILABLE TECHNIQUES & MODALITIES

Classic Swedish: or as I like to call it, The Fluff and Buff. Classic Swedish is a rhythmic assortment of long flowing and gliding strokes that are used along with gentle lifting, kneading, and rocking to bring you into calming deep relaxation.

Deep Tissue: So your one of those no pain, no gain types? It is most commonly used to treat chronic tension throughout the body, reduces injury, and alleviates inflammation. It works the deeper muscle layers as well as tendons and fascia. I incorporate many stretching techniques into it to aid in additional benefits of the deeper style work. Deep Tissue uses some similar strokes as Swedish but with far firmer presser and more specific work on muscles and areas of the body.

Trigger Point Work: Trigger points are small pea size areas of tenderness in a muscle that may cause localized pain with direct contact or refer pain to an entirely different part of the body. Trigger point therapy is a bodywork technique that involves the applying of pressure to these specific muscle tissues for the relief of pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body. Its purpose of is to eliminate pain and to re-educate the muscles into pain-free habits. Trigger point work is very specific. Many therapists do Trigger Point work as its own treatment. I prefer to incorporate it with Deep Tissue as it makes for a very well rounded treatment.

Hot Stone Massage: Warmed stones are used along with Classic Swedish techniques to aid in a deeper relaxation response. The stone increase circulation further and reduce muscle tension.**

Chair Massage: Chair massage is great for the office or and event. The massage usually last anywhere from 5-15 minutes. Chair Massage is done fully clothed and upright with focus on the head, neck, arms, shoulders, and back.

Thai Yoga Massage: (available soon) Thai Massage is where massage meets yoga. Thai Massage uses a combination of assisted stretches, range of motion and diverse massage techniques to balance the physical and energetic bodies. The tools used are the palms, thumbs, feet, and if needed, the elbows and knees. Benefits of receiving Thai Yoga Massage include reduced muscle tension and pain, increased flexibility and joint mobility, and deep relaxation. As each session is adapted to your needs, your Thai Yoga Massage may be gentle and relaxing, firm and energizing, or anywhere in between. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing!

Pregnancy Massage: is geared to meet the unique needs of the pregnant woman. It promotes better function of muscles and joints, and improves circulation and promotes overall well being. Additionally it decreases mental and physical fatigue. By reducing your own stress, you are also increasing the level of comfort for the little dude inside. Pregnancy Massage is usually done during the 2nd and/or third trimesters of pregnancy. The position most comfortable will be on your side, or in a semi-reclining position. Pregnancy massage consists of gentle massage strokes over the back and entire body. Please consult your doctor to see if massage is appropriate.
